Paramahansa Yogananda - The Inspiration For Turiya
Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952) is widely regarded as one of the pre-eminent spiritual leaders of our time. His guidance and love continues to be felt by the millions of people who have been inspired by his life and teachings, famously described in his classic work "Autobiography of a Yogi."
Paramahansaji was chosen by a line of Christ-like masters to bring the universal science of Yoga to the West. He came to America in 1920 and spent the next 30 years travelling and teaching. He established the Self Realisation Fellowship (SRF) in 1920 to disseminate his teaching to ensure they would not become distorted after his passing. The SRF continues to serve the hundreds of thousands of his devotees throughout the world by publishing books, holding services and retreats, and distributing the Self Realisation Fellowship Lessons - a complete collection of Paramahansjis teachings for home study.
The greatest gift Paramahansaji gave to the world was his living example as an embodiment of Love and Bliss, and the teaching of Kriya Yoga - the science of soul realisation, showing people the way to achieve what he had - complete oneness with God.
